A new highlight for the 2020 season!
A beautiful tour, both technically and physically demanding that offers an unforgettable experience in the unique surroundings of the Trafoi and Mustair valleys.
We start from the Stelvio Pass on the Tibet Trail, a track that runs through white morainic rocks where, up until a couple of decades ago, the Stelvio glacier existed.
Known for its technical features, it has some trial sections and, if you want to accomplish the hairpin bends without putting your foot down, you will have to put your "nose-press" skills into action.
The final part of this descent, in the woods, will also delight us with a few steps, leading to Trafoi.
A descent that is a real challenge, which is what we adore!
Note that if the Tibet Trail may appear too demanding, it can be replaced by the more classic Goldsee + Bim Bam, which will always lead us to Trafoi.
We climb up the opposite side of the valley with the help of a chairlift to reach the Forcola Refuge, where we can have lunch.
We set off again in the direction of Piz Chavalatsch, climbing first on a dirt road and then, leaving the main track, along a path that rises through the entire valley with the summit, our destination, as a backdrop.
This part of the ascent has sections that can be ridden alternating with push and portage sections, for a total duration of about 1 hour.
Once you reach the summit, the view over Val Mustair, Val Venosta and Valle di Trafoi is unique, with the Ortler mountain range still in the background.
Now a second and infinite descent on a beautiful trail, first on loose ground and then smoother towards the end, which will take us to the bottom of the Mustair Valley, where we will complete our tour with a well-deserved beer!
